Does anyone know for a fact if it's possible to use these cards for WCG crunching and are there any downsides to this, apart from the 300W?

Don't see how 300 watts for running a couple hundred WU is a downside verses 200 watts for my 12 wu... In fact retiring my 30 wu combined crunchers which use 400 plus watts makes 300 watts seem like a DEAL!

True, if we intended to buy just one. But we all know that wouldn't be enough.
----------------------------------------What I'm wondering about is if WCG or the projects need to do some special programming, or if these cards automatically work as x86 coprocessors, like in a dual processor workstation? EDIT: The answer to my question seems to be, the card's cores don't automatically show up in the OS as extra cores. Programming is needed. I received my computer back from the shop after 5 days. I was told they changed the Asus Rampage V extreme motherboard for a new one and it ran flawlessly for them for 2 days 24 7 with a combination of burn in one and continual boot looping to make sure it wasn't going to give error 61 on start up again. I have not had any issues at this stage. Great to hear. It happens. Let us know the ppd that 8 core monster does. Wish it didn't cost so much for that chip. Could get 2 5820k hex chips for less than that 1 8 core but after the rest of the of the parts, be pretty high.
Crunching for humanity since 2007!

Please find the last 7 days of my statistics below. Currently working on the fight AIDS at home. Runs just over half a day every day (12 hours) averages between 7 and 8 days when running completely for W CG. Apologies for the layout if it is not clear. Roughly 3/4 of an hour for the longer tasks. Some tasks have run around the half-hour mark

Jack007, I exaggerated. One would have been enough. For now.
Speedy51, I still don't understand. Find the last seven days? |
