Please check following CEP2 WU.

All of them get RC=0x1 or 0x100 on the job#6. It is not treated as error for most of WUs so something is wrong with this WU. I do not want to waist the considerable amount of time used for this WU. Thank you. Kiyo. |

"I do not want to
----------------------------------------Depends on the view, to me an occasional general fail of all copies just highlights there are some extremes within the [already filtered] distribution to the grid. Such is working at the edge of model simulations with large series real and synthesized compounds. [The science is still opt-in!] BTW, how do you determine what's computed on any platform? There's no OS info in the member readable logs of wingman, so you can only -speculate- on the basis of the client version. FAIK, only for Android [with it's relative high fail rate], Android being a Linux variant , if maximum copies fail for a task, a one-off copy is send to Linux to see if the task can still be completed successfully. Other than that, none of the current sciences are distributed on a per-task basis to multiple platforms [homogeneity issues]. If that is done, it's novel to me. Thank you for reply, Rob.
" how do you determine what's computed on any platform? " For CEP2, the format of the stderr file for Windows and Linux are different. the format is much in detail for Linux than Windows. The most significant difference is "RC". On Windows, "Invalid function call" is "0x1" but "0x100" on Linux. So I can determine the platform for CEP2. For the other projects, I am not sure though, such kind of difference may be found for other projects too because the behavior of BOINC should be bit different by platforms. Thanks. Kiyo. P.S. Thank you for correcting spelling error. Because I do not use English language in recent days, I make this kind of mistakes so often. |
