Re: Yesterdays Independant Newspaper - UK

Still the same bloated numbers "There are now more than three million devices involved, and 700,000 people donating processing power.", but if that's needed to make it sell, so be it. Pity, the volunteer retention is <= 10%. The configuration and maintenance is still not 'set / forget', only the involved staying on [The 10%, which is still just 2% of the 2% who say they were going to do something].

We can though be proud that us who stick have managed to bring 19 researches to completion, many of which are still producing new science findings and [potential] cures from the zillion bytes of data. Maybe that's the problem, the 'oh someone else will pick up the slack'?

Re: Yesterdays Independant Newspaper - UK

Doesn't using those bloated numbers actually drive people away?

You know like "Oh there's 3 million computers already so I won't even bother with the hassle of registering and installing software"?

Personally I would prefer if WCG used the real numbers.

The articles on that site makes it look like a supermarket tabloid. Lots of Progressive junk science.
