Project isn't dead but sure looks like the problem was bigger than they expected.

It is actually getting a bit difficult to find worthwhile projects that are not in short supply. The crunchers have been too successful, and are putting themselves out of work.

I am glad you pushed the multiple-BOINC client implementation as far as you did. Maybe they will make some progress on it. |

Others replicating the instructions got it to work, but think he abandoned the avenue from what he last posted over at Berkeley.

Yes, but he did more that I ever attempted. It should be easier.
----------------------------------------EDIT: By the way, I think I did try a few years ago, when I wanted both a service and non-service install of BOINC. It quickly became apparent that it could not work. Maybe that has changed. If it can be done repeatedly and reliably, I hope the BOINC developers can reduce it to a simple check box, and I will try again. Most probably, something else was wrong with my setting, and who would ever have found out? But, as it was said here, the BOINC developers should make it a lot easier, ideally reducing it to a simple Checkbox. |

Still WUs are getting distributed. By sheer luck I caught one yesterday (Friday 13th); apparently it was infected with some strange disease that WCG hasn't been able to cure, 'cause it was Server Aborted after 4 earlier Errors.

The disease is called the randamnization. Circulated they may get but last I looked the project stats page had zero validations since a number of days.
