Re: Help Stop TB Badge Recognition Thread

Finally made it to 180 days... and it only took 185 work units....sigh.

Now if only the beta work units were consistently so big...

Re: Help Stop TB Badge Recognition Thread

What is the point of having "Badges" for Help Stop TB if the only people who can earn the badges are the ones to whom BOINC mysteriously grants work units? Those of us who are denied HST1 WU are forced to seek other Projects in order to satisfy the wish to participate and must therefore forgo the Badges. So where am I of base?

Well you could do like I did/do on occasion & go into your device manager & turn off all projects 'except' HSTB. That usually will get you some tasks eventually. Not always however. My main machine (that I'm on most of the day) has 5 cores available for work & even though I turned everything but TB off this morning, I managed to pick up all of two work units all day. So even with that degree of micro-managing & a computer sitting there begging for work there just was nothing to get.

Best I can tell though, without the micro-managing on your part & the willingness to have lost opportunities (what my computer could have been working on all day) you're stuck with just getting the occasional random work unit. Is it worth all that extra work? That's something only you can decide.
