Re: Limited workunits for Help Stop TB

danghuy1994, although there are many different things to consider, just by looking at the raw number of results that were returned yesterday, we can see that HST is by far, the lowest (see below). As indicated, this has numerous caveats - such as HST not being a zero-redundancy project, it being the weekend, and the run-times of these projects (i.e., Zika runs a lot faster than HST, and thus, will return far more results than HST).

As also indicated in this thread, there is a very limited number of WU's for this project - so, if you've got a selection of projects selected (i.e., more than just HST), and also the "if there's no WU's available for the selected projects, send WU's from others" box is ticked, then that'll also have a negative influence on your chances of getting any HST WU's. In general though, the best time to try and grab a few, is to ensure that your BOINC session submits requests at 03 & 33 mins past the hour - be that automatically or manual (as I attempt to do - and, I'm sure, many others do).

So, just to give a very rough picture, here are yesterdays "Results Returned" results;
OpenZika 240,806
Help Stop TB 10,972
FightAIDS@Home - Phase 2 61,287
Outsmart Ebola Together 240,375
Uncovering Genome Mysteries 60,581
Mapping Cancer Markers 413,373

Re: Limited workunits for Help Stop TB

Hello: This is only a comment and personal observation.
There must be some sort of Black Hole into which these WU's are going. I am only running 3 old Windows machines with a total of 12 cores. At the moment I have 55 HST WUs In Process and 5 BetaHST in PVal. The Betas have been sitting there for ~36 - 48 hours waiting for the wingmen to show up.
Of the 55 reg WU's only 10 are in Pval and waiting for me to complete my WU. 45 WUs neither me or my wingmen have completed. 22 WUs in my In Process queue have error'ed out on other machines.
So the work is out there .... somewhere.
ps: all the WUs were picked up in the last ~48 hours

note to SekeRob* ... tongue .. shud have said "In Progress" ... there, is that better. (hee-hee)

Re: Limited workunits for Help Stop TB

Are there any work units for OSX? I was doing pretty good - with about 10% going to invalid. Since they started resending work units after trying to address the invalid issue I have not received any.

Me neither. sad

But then HST WUs are so scarce for the regular users anyway that I am beyond the point where I would care.
I rather wish the productions WUs would run on some of my hosts still running Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 (32bit), which they do just fine in each of the Beta releases.
Somehow those hosts seem to attract those WUs more than others and it is a shame that they all get aborted with a bogus "Computation Error"...

Doesn't look there's work for Linux either. Haven't seen a task in over 12 hours on the 2 machines that are looking.

Re: Limited workunits for Help Stop TB

Unless the Beta run creates a higher rate of WUs being released, this project should be downgraded to intermittent.

Re: Limited workunits for Help Stop TB

kylinblue, have you read this thread fully and followed the advice held within?

I've only got a tenth of your crunching power (8 cores spread over 2 hosts), yet I seem to be picking up the odd one or two here and there - enough to be within grasping distance of my Ruby badge (currently 170 days, 2 further days in PV jail and another 21 In Progress).

Re: Limited workunits for Help Stop TB

Didn't read and don't plan to. Just trying to provide an aspect of how many HSTB WUs are assigned to clients that are not "specially configured". Please don't be offended and I didn't mean to.

Right now I'm trying to grab diamonds before MCM and UGM ends.
