I pick up occasional HSTB repair jobs and they nearly always result from this error, this Windows version and this client version. Maybe it's always the same wingman/farm. If so, they're missing out on a good number of HSTB units

I'm more concerned that a lack of serious progress in completing the Work Units also means a lack of serious progress in the research against this nasty disease. widdershins, I understand your concern - there are many factors that determines the pace of research and the frequency and availability of work units. For example, sometimes this is determined by how and when the researchers analyze the results (as they come in vs. once they receive a certain number of batches) and therefore they may prefer for the results to come back at a pace they can keep up with. In other cases, the pace is determined by how quickly the research team can generate the work. In short, we typically work with the researchers to determine and set the pace for their project. |

At this pace, the question has to be asked why the grid was even boarded
01/14/2017 0:001:06:17:48 6,134 4 With the scripters hoovering at those certain key times somewhere around the 10th-12th hour UTC, no normal cruncher ever sees a WU for this project i.e. suggest to de-grid and take it in-house... guaranteed homogeneous results from known hardware off single OS with that really no need for quorum 2 at that. |

So, hopefully, we'll hear from the project (preferably directly from the scientists themselves) in the near future. I hope we get an update soon that explains all. Hi there,
----------------------------------------I would like to share that I have not 'caught' any HST WU from 14 through 17 January. But, there is a BETA WU coming out. Is there a way to tell which project is tesitng with these Betas? An example WU name is: BETA_SRA1_0000098_Bct-D_0052 Thanks in advance, Jay --Edit-- PS I have 1 year and 127 days of HST. My goal is two years - if possible. On the Clean Enery Project, I madse it to 1 year and 345 days (20 days short.) That's my motivattion for fishing. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by jay_Orlando at Jan 18, 2017 2:36:18 AM] |

I would like to share that I have not 'caught' any HST WU from 14 through 17 January. I would suggest in your willingness to tell people precisely how you were getting WUs you perhaps shot yourself in the foot because of simple mathematics: number_of_WUs_available/number_of_scripters has now probably become a very small fraction such that only a very small number of scripters will get any and those 'lucky few' who do will get as many as anyone ever did. There are far more Beta WUs than HST and that's probably why you're catching them whilst fishing for HST. I've now switched to FAAH having more or less got to 10 years on Zika (my Android phone will push it over the line, before I switch it to the new project) and the WU times on FAAH are too short to for any "fishing" attempts with HST because of the limit on number of tasks in progress. I may be back if the present Beta WU times reflect the new project when it launches, but for the moment I've quit HST. Good luck ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Six months ago we were crunching over ten times what we are currently handling. Something is up at the University of Nottingham, UK to cause this significant slowdown. Absolutely! I can remember a time, just after the project started, that I could easily keep all my cores loaded 24/7, even without using any special tricks... But those days are long gone and the project throughput has been declining steadily ever since they had their problem with the large number of invalids. You can nicely see that in Sekerob's dashboard. It looks more or less like an exponential decay curve now... This is the strangest project I have seen so far, but I am sure they have their reasons. |
