I have created a team in 2009, it is just a local team with 2 members, however 5 years of runtime. Later on I experimented with Gridcoin team and left my own, appointing another member as a captain. Now I would like to get back, however can't get captain role anymore, because that member (the only one) does not accept email and has not returned any results since 2012.
Can any administrator help me with getting the captain role back please? |

Is there any possible way of removing inactive members from my team?
On every other Boinc project where I am the captain/founder I have this function available to me. Why not here? I reckon I could delete about 70 accounts from our team - many of which have been dormant for years. Could the project admins help with this - is it worth my emailing them? |

The problem is that you have to define the meaning of inactive. Let me give an example. If a member has a broken computer for a number of weeks, months or even years (taking a long vacation in the meantime) and returns, then this question pops up of course: has this member been inactive? At what point in time did you decide this member was inactive? Somebody else will disagree with you. So there is no clear definition of 'inactive'.
----------------------------------------EDIT: Oh wait, it has been defined: "Only Inactive team members (members who have not returned a result in 30 days)". ![]() ![]() ![]() I wouldn't be surprised if you would lose the points that have been achieved by inactive members if you could remove inactive members from your team. Maybe you'd rather would like to have an option to hide (and unhide) them? Also, an ethical question: would you like to remove members who have died in the meantime? I understand that I may lose the credit they have accumulated, but from my point of view if they only achieved a few hundred points about 10 years ago (and nothing since) then they have clearly given up...!
I faced a similar situation with all the other projects we are attached to - but the difference with those is that I have the option to remove old users. It would be extremely useful to have the same administrative functions here as I do elsewhere. There's nothing stopping them from re-joining if they want, but as far as I can see they stopped doing Boinc years ago... |

There is no current feature that allows a team captain to remove members from their team. Thank you for your support, ErikaT |

I am having a hard time trying to figure out exactly what you are dumping on: Win 10 or WCG ? or both ?
----------------------------------------The easy answer for the Win 10 woes is Linux. It doesn't even take but about a few minutes to install and set up for crunching. The other alternative is get an old copy of Win 7 and use that. Yeah, it is outdated, but if you only use it for crunching the chances you'll have any problems are small. Even after reading your post a couple of times I am still at sea about what at WCG is bugging you. Cheers

"Still, if you were to look at my earlier post...", which was 2017, at least if this is the topic being griped over. Johnny lost his Cool it appears.
