Re: Is anybody still getting work?

I'm not sure the 3/33 applies anymore,

I have been using 17/47 for a long time now. I forgot who noticed the change and posted the new times. It was not me; NixChix deserves the credit. See this thread:

Re: Is anybody still getting work?

I tried NixChix routine, but failed (probably my fault). However, I have been managing to keep my cache full by updating manually at 16:30 and 46:30 past each hour. That also creates another go 2 minutes later. I have another manual go 2 minutes after that, which could well pick up re-sends. As the units take about 21 hours, I don't have to do that too many times a day to fill my cache of 9.5 days.

I need to download another 80 units to complete my diamond (5 year) badge. I'll stop then to give others a chance and switch back to MCM, unless HSTB announce an extension.

Yes, KLiK. But I am down to 70 units required, so here's hoping!

Re: Is anybody still getting work?

So, just to clarify, are there any WUs available for this project?

Yes, but you have to work at it...

Re: Is anybody still getting work?

I have one running now on a Ryzen 2700 (Ubuntu 18.04.2). It has been going for 2 hours, and has 8 hours more to go. That machine runs WCG only on all the cores. I also have a Ryzen 1700 (also Ubuntu), which does not have any at the moment. That is with the standard (0.1 + 0.5 days) buffer.

I would not waste my time trying to get one, but if other people have nothing better to do, that is their business. It does not make the project go any faster; if one person does not do them, another will.

Re: Is anybody still getting work?

Jim, you have a very small buffer for such a long running WU. I have mine set to 9.5+0.5 as there is a 10 day allowance for completion. My current cache is 86 WUs obtained by setting to HSTB only and occasionally running an update at 16 mins 30 secs past the hour and 30 mins later. Sometimes there are no units available and sometimes I pick up several (if you get some, it repeats until there are none available.)

However the project seems to be about to finish, so it isn't worth establishing a strategy at this late stage.

There are currently plenty available as 8000 are being completed daily but I don't know how many are chasing them.

I have these on my 4-core processor with 8 GBytes RAM.
Only one is actually running. The other cores are running Rosetta@home and SETI@home.
