WCG are only releasing units from generations up to 142.

So far, 13,511 units have completed generation 142 so are waiting in 143 to be released. There are also 830 in generation 144, 481 in generation 145 and 237 in generation 146. This is as per the daily stats issued by WCG in generations.txt.

Mike

I don't see what the issue is with WCG only releasing generations up to 142.

Yes perhaps the project is releasing less work. I don't see why this is an issue. Maybe the team just don't have the storage space like IBM had

Re: Work Available

I think they have a bandwidth issue, not a storage issue. The uploads and downloads of ARP WUs are much larger than MCM. I think with their patched together system, that they need to be careful with how many ARP WUs they have flowing up and down at a time.

We told them that if they had to limit how many ARP WUs they could send out at a time that they should prioritize the earlier generations. They listened to us, and did just that.

There is definitely some missing/stuck/abandoned WUs in earlier generations. I would love an explanation from the ARP team on if they intend to abandon some areas or if they will release them with a smaller step in the future.

I figure we will move to 143 once all the areas in 142 have been sent out, which might take a while, as it is a big group (18k+). Hopefully the new hardware will allow us to move quicker through the project.

Re: Work Available

Haven't received any ARP1 work in about 12 hours.

Yes it will be interesting to see if it speeds up. When MAM1 project starts (no known date at this time) it will be interesting to see whether that has an effect on work throughput because of people shifting power to MAM1

Re: Work Available

Again no movement of extremes. There are 318 all of which appear to be stuck.

3 accelerated moved - 2 of which escaped to normal. There seem to be 3 accelerated moving out of 444.

There are 18,441 normals in the generations being released, many of which may be stuck, particularly in generations 137 to 141.

There are now 14,858 held up in generation 143.

I haven't reported it as an issue. I have just reported it as a fact. WCG are unlikely to have a solution to their capacity problems for the very demanding ARP before July.

As Unixchick has said, that is probably the best way to keep it under control.

It would be nice if they could spend some time solving the issue of the stuck units.

Re: Work Available

No ARP WUs have gone out in a while. I hope someone starts the ARP generator up again soon.

Hopefully they are fixing the stuck WUs.
