Also, 'My Contribution History' hasn't updated for 10 hours. It's usually quicker than that - every six hours?

... However, all the finished ones which were uploaded from about 4 a.m. on are still in "pending validation". Meanwhile all these WUs have been validated :-) |

We had a raid card fail on one of our servers yesterday. Once the raid card was replaced we had to remove and re-add the local disks on that server back into the storage cluster. Once that was done we had rebalance the storage across all the servers. Due that work going on we had stopped some of the backend functions like validation to minimize the load on the system.
We have all the systems operating normally now and everything has caught up except for validation on the African Rainfall Project which will take another hour or so to catch up. |

I have a machine running Windows, and 2 running Linux, all with GPUs (and some others without).
----------------------------------------My Windows machine almost always seems to have a good queue of GPU work units (maybe 10ish on average), so it's pretty much always running the GPU. My two Linux machines very rarely seem to get any. Is this a deliberate Windows vs Linux difference? Or is it just that my Linux boxes have the better GPUs (they do) that get through the results quickly, so a queue never gets chance to build, while the Windows box's GPU is slower, so a queue can form? It would be interesting to see how many GPU WUs each machine gets over say 24h, but I don't know how to check that easily on both platfoms. ![]() (previously known as 'proxima' on SETI, UD, distributed folding, FaD, and Rosetta) |

There are so few OPNG WUs that it really doesn't matter if you run a 750 Ti or a 3600 RTX you can end up with more or less the same amount of points at the end of the day. The 750 is so slow that you from time to time can see a line waiting to run. Your points suggest that your slow 750 Ti in fact get slightly more WUs.

Yes, I think that's exactly what's happening. Out of curiosity, how did you see what devices I've got? I can't even remember how to see that myself! (I used to know a bit more about BOINC and WCG, but I've been very much a background cruncher for a few years, and forgotten most of it!) Thanks again anyway. ![]() (previously known as 'proxima' on SETI, UD, distributed folding, FaD, and Rosetta) |
