Comparisons of CPU -vs- GPU

Significantly faster times for GPU calculations as shown in attached pic.
About 3 minutes to do a calculation as opposed to 2.5 to 6 hours for the CPUs.
Not all results were in my Boinctasks history. WCG site shows 300+ results of which 17 were invalid.

Congrats on getting vaccinated! The overwhelming weight of evidence shows that vaccines are not only effective, they are overwhelmingly effective. See the newest news today: https://arstechnica.com/science/2021/04/99-99...ged-covid-cdc-data-shows/

Thanks! inoculations for smallpox (for example) have been known to work for over 2000 years and documented by Chinese doctors in 1000 CE.

I brought up another system with pair of gtx 1060 running the GPU app and the range of time to complete are all in the minutes. Anyone using BoincTasks with history enabled can use my app. Download here

As shown in the picture but listed by system name ---
BLUE SQUARE: 2080 and 1660-TI
YELLOW: 1070-TI
ORANGE: pair of 1060
BLUE TRIANGLE: 1070

Re: Comparisons of CPU -vs- GPU

finally got some results for my AMD RX-570 boards. The AMD results (Ubuntu) have the yellow color. 2080, 1070 and 1060 NVidia are blue and are Winx64. There is a greater range of completion time for the RX-570 but they compare nicely with all the NVidia boards. If I get enough data I might be able to compare the ATI on linux and windows.
Anyone using boinctasks can use my app for performance info.

Re: Comparisons of CPU -vs- GPU

I have been getting more than double the points for the last few days, except for the time things were closed due to thunderstorms.

I did see things in beta, but they just sat there.
I have some NVIDIA GPU jobs that are actually running for real.
