Processing the ARP just isn't working for me. After running the first couple of work units sent to me for 20 hours straight (Windows 10 desktop) the "Elapsed Time" was abut 4 hours. One of the work units missed its deadline and the other just barely made it.
And because I live in a rural area with erratic electricity I need to shut my computer down every night. But I can't find out how to quit receiving ARP work units. A recent item on the WCG website gave instructions for increasing the number of work units (and I quote) The default setting for this project is for each volunteer device to process one work unit at a time. You can allow more work on your device by following the instructions below: Go to https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/viewProfiles.do Click on the profile name for the profile that you want to increase. For most users, this will be "Default" On the next screen, select the "Custom Profile" option At the bottom of the page in the "Project Limits" section, change the drop down for "Africa Rainfall Project" to "2" or more. Click "Save" But the number of work units can't be set to zero. I'll let the two units currently processing finish but I don't want to waste everyone's time by accepting more. |

There are 2 ways:
----------------------------------------On that same page you reference, near the top is a section labeled "Available Projects". Uncheck the Africa Rainfall Project". Note that you must set the profile to custom. If you are using multiple computers, this will only affect computers that are using that particular profile. To remove for all profiles, 1. Go to my contribution 2. Select My Project 3. Uncheck Africa Rainfall Project ![]() |

Many thanks for this! I knew there had to be a simple way. I don't know how many times I stared at that page trying to divine the secret
