Lost credit after OS crash

Hi!

After my Windows 10 machine has crashed several times (most likely due to defective RAM) the credit shown in BOINC Manager and on BOINCSTATS is now about 300,000 points lower than before the crash.

I deinstalled the BOINC client software and renamed the BOINC data directory that remained. Then I did a fresh install of version 7.16.11 (same as before) but still get the wrong numbers. Data on the WCG website seems to be reasonable.

Any idea on how to fix this? TIA!

Frank

Re: Lost credit after OS crash

I do see negative credits at both BOINCSTATS and Free-DC.

https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=11592 - Could be something related to the Cross Project Identifier.

Perhaps give it a few days and see if resolves on its own.

Re: Lost credit after OS crash

Thanks for your hints.
In the meantime I started this account on a different machine and got the same result.
It seems as if waiting is my only option at the moment. coffee rolling eyes

If they are marked too late, then it means someone else already returned that work unit. Whether or not the too late result is delivered to the research teams, I do not know.

Thks Falconet for yr answer but does it means that i crunched that wu for nothing?
I cant understand why two different people can have the same work

If i see cannot return the work on due time, do i have to abort it ?
