Another option is Process Lasso which has a Processor Group Extender to allow processor group unaware applications like BOINC to use the full CPU.
----------------------------------------https://bitsum.com/product-update/process-lasso-9-7-processor-group-extender/ There are various currencies available but in USD it's $38 for a lifetime single-PC commercial or $48 for a whole-home noncommercial license. Compared to about $125 for a Pro to Workstation upgrade price for Windows. https://bitsum.com/get-lasso-pro/ ![]() |

thank you all for further confirmation and a work arounds! Now i have to get back on my IBM mainframe with i don't remember how many cpus/cores and earn my paycheck. I just wish i knew why when i saved the cc_config.xml with note it didn't like it. I unfortunately deal with some xml files on the mainframe. I feed the mainframe one generated by SAS to my pc then into excel for built spread sheets.

i don't remember if the ram is ecc or not. it's 32 gig sticks on the top of the asus cvl support list. Bios is default except i extended the clock to get into it from 3 to 5 seconds as i'm always looking the wrong way when I'm trying to get into it. C, F and G drives are samsung 980 pros, first two are 1 tb third 2tb. Had been thinking of trying to raid the c drive but after reading all the flaming hoops you have to jump thru. said not today.
----------------------------------------I have four sticks of ram to help with with thruput to memory, i have four 6 tb hdd sata 6 speed. one i use for internal backups, the other three will become a plex server eventually. Thanks for the tip on the memory i'll save my pennys and look for some after i get new ups. going to need something three times the size of current to handle the work load. Thanks for the heads up on ram. with this motherboard finding ram from the spec sheet is tough. thank you again for the help. I'm hoping this will be the last pc i build, ![]() |

Just a status update for those who have helped. I've loaded the Process Lasso software free version at this point as lack of sleep last night makes learning something this complex difficult. I've cranked up boinc to 90%, 114/5 threads out of 128 showing active if I counted right. I've noticed the lasso numbers match the Corsair ICUE stats better than win10 task manager stats. processor temps are ok, I think i will turnoff the heating vents to the office this winter and just use the threadripper. This is the results i was looking for being able to use threadripper on World Community Grid. Thank you to everyone for the help together we have made it work.

Well i've found a new issue. I know its mine but i'm puzzled. the process lasso worked great for about a week. I could push boinc to 90% cpu and my thruput graphs show it. However it started locking up even with Lasso in. Vanillia setup as I did have time to learn the all the bells and whistles. Had to do several hard reboots, a couple front panel and a P.O.R.(power on reset in main frame terms.) after that boinc stopped running full throttle. It ran in spurts the CPU chart on task manager looked like a saw tooth blade. I deinstalled both boinc and lasso, rebooted reinstalled eash separately but same resutls. saw tooth thruput. my cinebench works great drives the cpu to the limit. i'm thinking of removing boinc again but i want to make sure i clean registry entries. Any idea on where they are? boinc ran full throttle at first install. i figure i must have corrupted something in regristry.
