Looking to donate 80 CAD just now on Safari iPadOS 15.2.1 - the blue box at end for “other” donation amount isn’t keeping the “80” in it. What am I doing wrong? Can anyone confirm this doesn’t work on Safari? I will try later on on Firefox. I don’t think a thousand people at 10 dollars is going to do it. But it’s a bit much not to have GBP option or PayPal. Anyway. The blue “other box” could be an issue. Can someone look into this please if confirmed. Looking to help any way I can. Selling my trombone on eBay at the moment so more to come soon. IF i can donate a custom amount that is!

Sorry Tomahawk4196. I previously read that as one-off donation of 5-10 dollars. Must have missed the monthly bit. Nice work on encouraging donations btw.

I managed to donate easily using Firefox 110 on Windows, but as per my last post, Safari, at least on iPadOS 15.2.1 isn't keeping the "other" amount in blue box on donations page when cursor capture into another field. I have emailed the foundation at their email at uhn.ca about it not long after my prior post. I assume until someone has an iOS or iPadOS of later version and tests this out that maybe ALL Safari browsers on iPad/i-OS may be affected. I was really concerned that any old amount may be going through, as the amount entered just disappears when start filling in more text.

I will ask my sister to check what iOS she has on her phone and if it's later to do a test for me and report back here with the results. We only have one Apple device here (iPad). If anyone is reading this, and you have iOS/iPadOS, or even macOS please check if this happens to you also in Safari.

I have to say, I'm with Barclays (UK) and there was no verified by VISA stuff with a confirm code to my phone or anything and so it doesn't seem very secure to me.

That donation page is not up to modern security standards here in the EU. Unless there is a "Verified By Visa" function on such a page, my bank vill not accept to release any money. Not that I ever would write my Debit card number on any site on the Internet anyhow. I refuse 100% to buy anything online, with my Debit card.

Yes, you are quite correct: One issue with the donation page is that it's set up for a minimum donation of $50, which is too high. Currently, you have to pick the "Other" amount, then type in $5 or $10 .... so please do that, at least once a month.

The other problems with the UHN donation page are that it doesn't take digital forms of payment (PayPal, Venmo, etc), and it doesn't offer a recurring monthly donation.

So PLEASE: email the UHN Foundation people directly at foundation@uhn.ca, to politely ask that they add those three features: Smaller donation amounts, recurring donations, and digital payment methods.

MJH333 (Mark) that's REALLY interesting. So it doesn't work also on iPadOS 16.3.1 (latest). According to my sister (you'll have to forgive me not posting back in few weeks had some REALLY awful cold that's still on chest after three weeks causing me not to dream much for two weeks - and I don't get sleepy since 2014 anyway and most days are either tired or shattered to start with), anyway she says it doesn't do that on her iPhone. I asked her to check iPad also, but she has the same thing I do and hasn't gotten around to checking on iPad. She of course didn't inform me what "software version" was on her iPhone, but this looks endemic, for want of a better word, to iPadOS. And so, if you try to donate on iPadOS, don't bother, by the looks of it. At least on Safari.

As I say, I emailed foundation@UHN or whatever to inform few weeks ago. God knows why it doesn't work. That's also interesting Grumpy Swede, Barclays (UK) VISA debit card worked OK. Only after using Firefox on Desktop that is to get around the disappearing "custom" amount. And so, if you want to donate, just don't try on Safari on iPad, as far as we know so far. iPhone seems OK. Those foundation folks really need to sort that out, and make sure it supports "verified by VISA" and whatever mastercard stuff also. I agree also that PayPal wouldn't go amiss here. I can't say I like putting card details in either directly.
