BOINC benchmark stats put it at 2.5 times as fast as my 3200+, and that was o/c'd by 10%  My Venice 3000+ runs at 2320 at the moment and scores 2217 & 4105. How does your Opty compare? Rick, why on earth do you need a laptop with 2 gig of RAM?  Because of some of the work realated stuff, and someone wasn't paying attantion when I ordered it.  It will also have a WI FI moblie card, so I'll be able to crunch and ping while driving. .Just wish it didn't have to be a Microsloth box. Rick |

Cuz, I assume that is the X2 3800+? I'd have thought you could have got 2.5GHz out of it . . . . I haven't tried to go beyond 2.3 yet. The Biostar system board has a built in "Overclocking for Dummies" feature. I just selected the 15% o/c setting in bios and away it went. The CPU temp went from 42c @2.0 to 50c @2.3 while running two WCG agents with stock cooling and room temp @ 20c. Temp isn't as much concern at this time of year but it will be a big concern in just a few months. Anyway, I plan to push it while it's still cold outside. I want to let it burn in for a while before I go any higher and I prefer not to run it over 50c for long periods.  |

I'm having to run my 4800 at 56c for the moment. Got to sort out the attic and build a watercooling setyp for all my systems. Sometime.
