I'm still communicating with WCG. getting WUs and sending them back. I didn't see a down time in my logs, but truthfully I'm only running one slow machine, so the communication is not every minute. Are you still having a problem Occam??

The log file last night kept saying "internet ok, system may be down" or similar. At some point they started. I'm running an old machine also but its still dual-core and I'm on it enough that it seems to do a good job crunching. Every bit helps I guess. Thanks for the reply. Where can I find info about the badges? I searched but didn't see the list of what they were or are they different for each project?

Occam - you should be able to hover over the badges on the forum to get info on that badge.
Here is a list of all the projects https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/stat/viewProjects.do You can see in the first post of this thread which ones are active or on hiatus. You get your first badge at 14 days of work on a project. If you are running 2 work units at a time on your machine then in 7 days time you can complete 14 days of work. MCM is the only project active at the moment (The first one in my collection with the Xs and Os) They are fun to collect. I'm excited to earn a 2 year badge once the African Rainfall Project comes back (ARP). |

Interesting. Thanks for the link so I know mcm. I have more than 14 days and no badge. Also when I hover any badge I get nothing and no badges are showing on my home page. Is WCG browser sensitive, I'm not showing anything being blocked? Thanks

Is WCG browser sensitive, I'm not showing anything being blocked? Thanks It's not browser sensitive, because I see other people's badges on here but not yours. Another place to look is My Contribution - Overview. If you scroll down that page, there's a "My project contribution" section, and each project has a Badge column. Additionally, the stats runs every 12 hours at 0:00 UTC and 12:00 UTC, so within an hour after that, you'll usually get both 1) a notification within BOINC Manager, and 2) a WCG website Notification under Milestones that you earned your 14, 45, 90 day, 1 year, etc. badge. It's possible that functionality is broken if yours isn't working and you're past 14 days for MCM.

On the page Data sharing it says: "If you choose to display your data, your username and contribution statistics will be shown on our leader boards, your badges and country (if specified) will be shown in our forums". In other words, if you hide your data, your badges will NOT be shown on the forums. In any case I can't find your username in the contribution statistics. (However, there is a possibility that your username on the forums differs from the one in the statistics.) Also when I hover any badge I get nothing That's odd. Are you using Firefox? You said you're using a dual core computer. Are you perhaps using an ancient, outdated browser? We can't help much without the necessary information. You are correct on the data sharing. I now recall I chose to hide it, not from the forum but from the data export. So I guess my data wont show here.

Nothing shows there either but I think the recent issue with Ubuntu version caused a total reset of everything. I searched badges and couldn't find when badges are issued. I only run MCM but where can I find details about them and are they all the same for every project? Thanks
