A bit of good news...

The MCM1 assimilators appear to have been running [non-stop?] since some time early on the morning of 2024-02-29. My first old WU to be assimilated was marked as ready to purge at 06:43:45, but who knows when they started -- and yes, it seems to have purged all my tasks still lingering from 2023-10-31, as evidence that progress is being made :-)

I've also posted about it in that thread in the MCM1 forum ...

Regarding work unit removal...

About half my results that got marked for purge on the first day of the return of the assimilators have been removed. It is likely that the assimilators and file deleters are working through the backlog a lot faster than the db_purge service can clear them out of the way (and in standard BOINC they can't just fire up another purge service...)

So we will undoubtedly have plenty of chances to grouse about nothing appearing to be happening -- just don't blame it on the assimilators at the moment :-)

I'm not getting MCM WUs right now... looks like there is an issue.

Some of my handful of systems almost ran out of work between 03:00 and 06:00 (UTC) then collected a mass of retries :-) and I saw the dreaded "commited to other platforms" message a few times... However, all are back up to quota now. I guess we'll never know what that was about; annoying, isn't it? :-)

Agreed -- unaux.com is legitimate, but access attempts (browser or otherwise) all fail to resolve the full address... Oops!

What does quora.com say when asked "I decided to use a free domain service for a little period and it is ending with *.unaux.com. Is it good?"

No, not really, but its free.

We can wait and hope it will re-appear, with a promised 99.9% uptime (says ProFreeHost).

I'm still empty, and the data in the first post says they definitely aren't sending out at the usual rate. I'm guessing that the clean up project is tasking the system too much.
