Actually, what Chowbow meant by "again", was that he had passed 500,000 points at the Grid before he came here.

"External linking" is the same as "remote hosting". If you point to one of their images and you are not a member of that ISP, that causes the problem. It's also called "pirating images". Putting the URL in this forum will do the same thing. I am hosting my own images in my sig, so do not run up against the external image problem since I have copied them to my own URL. Bok at http://stats.free-dc.org still allows external hosting, so the statistics box at free-dc below comes through and is displayed. It can also be a problem for you if you only have a certain amount of bandwidth you pay for at your own account. If others post YOUR images using your URL, YOU get charged to your bandwidth to pay for it when anyone displays them.

Most freebie accounts do not allow remote hosting. Bandwidth can be an extreme problem in Europe, and many are even complaining about the small amount needed to send in crunching results.
