I wish to take note of a juvenile attack that appears to have been mounted by a few immature members of several teams here in the Team forum of the World Community Grid. They have been systematically posting drivel in their several team threads in order to push the MyOnlineTeam thread down in the listings. I am sure that they do this as they are jealous of the success that our team has had. I am also sure that they have not considered the impact on their own recruiting efforts as they hang themselves out to be idiots before of the entire World Community Grid community. I would suggest to them that they step back and look at the negative aspects of their behavior and the impact it is surely to have on their recruiting. At the same time they mount their attack to push MyOnlineTeam down in the listings, they are doing the same to each and every other team that participates here. Perhaps this is why they are minor players in the field of World Community Grid teams and why they have failed to recruit many new members. They should pay more attention to what their own team is good at and work with that and less on the childish worry about who has posted most recently in the forums. Not doing so will probably consign them to continuing on as very minor teams in the grand scheme. why would people be doing that then you must be paranoid if you think its to push your team further down the page as for minor players i laugh at that no need to call people idiots either i think its rather childish of you rather than you calling people childish i read posts often and from what i can see its just banter between members and there having fun after all were all doing this to help find cures as many of us have lost family and friends. so i suggest you shut up -- This post has been edited for profanity - nelsoc [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Dec 19, 2005 1:53:06 PM] |

BBF is hardly a minor team. Wishful thinking on some peeps minds I think. We left UD in the top 30 and FaD is closing with us in the top 20.
 I have friends on various teams here. Most from when I was at UD. Call it drivel or whatever you want. If I choose to chat with them in their thread or my own I will.  I don't care if you bump your thread up 24/7 I still don't see the need for multiple threads to achieve keeping your team at the top.  As far as being idiots I don't think that term or a similar one was used until Dave Bell did. Not nice.  |

I always like to add in my two cents worth...This is not the GRID and hopefully it shall never become that place....This is a forum for people to chat and have some fun...The important thing here is the work, not your ego....Everyone needs to take a step back and chill out some...

Here's my 2 penneth as the Cap'n of the team who people like to have a pop at.
----------------------------------------btw the reason we had multiple threads yesterday was that a new team thread had just been started (Chapter 10) as there is a flaw in the forum software which makes it difficult to navigate too and fro when you have reached the 500 posts mark. If this has made it appear that we are hogging the limelight then I'm sorry, this should only happen infrequently. As for always being on page one, much to everyone's obvious annoyance, well that has been down to our success in recruiting Team Mates from at least 24 countries around the Globe meaning that chat occurs around the clock and I have deliberately not instigated a team forum so that we chat in full view on the WCG - we have nothing to hide. Anyway for your info here's what I posted earlier in our Team Thread ------------- Good Grief You go to bed and your team thread is plodding on nicely we've dropped down to 4th but hey it was going to happen some day. I like to think we like to talk to each other and that's why we hardly ever disappear of the front page You wake up in the morning and everyone's slinging mud at each other Hello..... We are all one big team here at the World Community Grid "Team WCG" and at the end of the day it is the contribution of everyone that will make the difference. Teams are just a handy way of boosting awareness and motivation to add PC's and keep running PC's on the Grid full stop. I like to think that the MOT Crew have slightly more than that as a consequence of our crunching together, like making new friends from around the Globe. We've been here before, sadly I sure we will be here again, but in the meantime could you all have a read of what it says on the Tin - this is the WORLD COMMUNITY GRID Now I like that idea of a World Community working together for the good of Mankind. Please let's keep it that way Dave ------------ one last note I for one would love to see Teams come rushing past old MOT as if you can get in front of us more work units must be being returned to the HIV and HPF project. I posted a response to the OP, then I read the thread at DCZone, and had to retract my response, because I'd only read half of the story here.
Maybe we should just bump every thread, for every team, every time we post, so everybody will be happy. |
