I used to be able to have WCG running all the time, regardless of my activity on the computer.
I upgraded to a P4, and now, it only runs when i.m not doing anything else. Please advise how to get more out of the system. For a short time, when everything was on, the total activity was about 50% of my CPU, and WCG was visibly on. NOT ANY LONGER!!! Ron Drake. rdrake@canatron.ca |

Hello ron drake,
The Pentium 4 chip has hyperthreading, which means that it can run 2 threads. Therefore, one program, such as WCG, counts as 50%. So everything is all right. Even though Task Manager describes this as 50%, your CPU is running almost as fast as it can. If you were running a second thread, it would only speed up processing by about 15% but Task Manager would call 2 threads 100% utilization. Lawrence |
