Re: WCG doesn't support any AccountManagementSystem (AMS) Features!?

Please take a look on BOINCstats Account Manager again - without WCG. It's now ready to sign up for all users...

Valtherus, it seems that AMS is fairly high on the list of priorities. WCG will be adding better support for 5.4.9, and hopefully AMS will be fully supported some time in June.

Hi sTrey,
I have not heard anything different. On the other hand, I congratulate knreed on his growing family and hope that he can find time for a few short naps at night. laughing If the schedule slips a little - - - well, that's life!

Re: WCG doesn't support any AccountManagementSystem (AMS) Features!?

Making progress - as part of preparing for AMS we needed to update the server side code to the latest version. This update took a bit longer then expected but we are now testing the latest code in development. We still expect to release it sometime this month.

I have exchanged some emails with Willy at BOINCStats and he knows what we are doing so once we have the functions available we should be able to be added to BAM quite quickly.

Let me cite [BOINCstats] Willy from boincstats.com (posting from 8. 7.):
"The good news: WCG is working on support for BAM!.
The bad news: It will take some changes in the BAM! code. For example: all other BOINC projects use unique email address + password as identifier for BAM! <> project connections. WCG will use unique user name + password as identifier. BAM! allowed for duplicate user names. These will have to be eliminated (that is: some user names will have to change)."

Further he posted at 9. 7.:
"Today I added partial World Community Grid support to BAM!. Partial because although BAM! can read from the project (find accounts, find teams, read CPID etc), BAM! can’t update anything. So BAM! can’t set the team ID, the recourse share or any other setting.
It is possible to use BAM! to attach your hosts to WCG."

I think this "partial support" is not that, what we expect from an Account Management System. But first efforts have been made...

Keep it up
Valtherus
