14 hours, no graphics, 0%

the only thing moving is the time clock on the main screen. there is nothing on the application visualization screen.

this is the UD client.

is this normal?

if not, you can spell out in full detail what i need to do, and how. thanks.

It doesn't look promising.

Are you sure it hasn't paused? Is the science application running?

If it is, then you shouldn't worry yet. Sometimes a fold doesn't converge, and just keeps going getting nowhere until an internal timeout moves the work unit along.

Keep an eye on it, and have patience. There are plenty of other glitches for the techs to deal with; I'm hoping yours is a false alarm.

One of the techs had this to say about that.

In was trying to suggest to our esteemed crunching associate, halfcard, that if he had bothered to look around a little he might have noticed that his issue had already been addressed. For a change I was trying to use the soft approach suggested by one of our esteemed CAs rather than my usual approach which might have been more like "Hey halfwit, click the links and read and get wit da program."

Re: 14 hours, no graphics, 0%

my understanding of that thread, which i did read, is that no progress is being made if i don't see the picture and the progress lines moving.

if true, there is 0 progress here.

are you saying that if the above is true, the unit will terminate itself? when would that happen? it is now 21 hours without even a picture.

I see zero progress too my esteemed cruncher cohort, halfcard. I think I'll just sit back and watch esteemed CA Didactylos skin this one. My tongue is really sore at this time and my fingers are too shaky to type.

Re: 14 hours, no graphics, 0%

You folks aren't seen ANY graphics (other than the background)? No graphs, no rotating molecule? Do you see the text "Performing de novo structure prediction" in the graph fields?

Is the process actually consuming CPU? If it is, can you email support with your device IDs and the rough timeframe you were "working" on these workunits so we can track them down and take a look at them?

Thanks.

Re: 14 hours, no graphics, 0%

that's right, no graphics, no such 'text' as above, and CPU is at 99%. total time now is 21 hours 30 minutes.

device ID i think is this: deviceId=203172&deviceType=U

what is the link for email tech support?
