Task Execution Progress remains in 0% after hours of work.

On July 11th my PC worked all day long but showed no evolution in execution progress. It was stopped in zero%. I took some actions:

a) Access successfully the WCG site for statistics, device checking and all, but it was useless.
b) I snooze the application and shutdown the PC. After the boot, the application re-started but counter was still stopped in zero%.
c) I exit the application and re-started it, again with no use.

When I re-start the application the I move to the application screen and in the left side (the core side) it shows the lines moving, numbers in the score (Solvation, Res-Res-Pairs and H-bonds) are changing from time to time. In the right side of this screen the current protein in moving as if it was running just fine.

But, after a while, all the left side becomes blank, I mean, no more lines, no more score nunbers but the protein is still moving.

The Home screen says the Primary Task is Executing and, even after hours, the percentage is still Zero.

Checking the statistics for this device I see that the results for july 11th keep stalled since that morning while my other device (at home) continues to work nicely.

What can I do?

Thanks,
H_Pacca

Hello H_Pacca,
You have run into a bug in the HPF2 program. At least, that is my current opinion. We are reporting these work units in this thread ( http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=7868 ) to help the staff debug. Once you have done that, go ahead and use Task Manager to kill the process wcgrid_rosetta****. This will make the UD client download a new work unit.

Re: Task Execution Progress remains in 0% after hours of work.

HI Lawrence,

Thanks for your advice. In fact I have already tried to kill the wcgrid_rosetta process but it wasn't there! Then, after some relutance I decided to uninstall WCG software and re-install it. It worked fine. Now the execution progress is running again.

The problem is that I gainned "another device" when downloaded the software for instalation. I can see that when I go to the WCG site and check my statistics. I believe the "old device" will be dead forever and the "new one" (with the same name and device profile) will liv from now on.

Thanks again.
Henrique

Hello H_Pacca,
Yes, each installation creates a unique Device ID that is attached to your member name. After 2 weeks, the old device will disappear from view unless you use the drop-down menu to see your old devices. Just ignore it, since all points are accrued to your member name.
