BOINC poll @ berkeley

There's a poll for BOINC at Berkeley:

http://boinc.berkeley.edu/poll.php

Several volunteer computing projects, including Climateprediction.net, Einstein@home, and SETI@home, use software called BOINC. If you participate in projects like this, we request that you answer the following questions. This will help BOINC-based projects increase participation and achieve greater scientific results.

Please answer as many questions as you want, then go to the bottom and click OK. If you previously completed the survey but your answers have changed, please complete it again - your new answers will replace the old ones.

Re: BOINC poll @ berkeley

I've just done it!

Only takes a minute, no fuss, anonymous.

It has a "Features Suggestion" area - so no moaning about what BOINC does not do - get in and tell them!

Re: BOINC poll + Results @ berkeley

From Romworld:

Latest BOINC happenings - Excerpt

It is time to tell us what you think. We are conducting a poll to determine where the hot spots are for what needs to happen with BOINC. We welcome all kinds of feedback, the more people that respond and the better coverage we get, the more we can improve BOINC and help the projects improve their overall experience.

You can find the poll here:
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/poll.php

The results are published here:

http://boinc.berkeley.edu/poll_results.php

I turned on my TV this weekend to catch up on some of my recordings and I found this in my wait recorded queue:
Rosetta Presentation

I have my media center setup to record any of the Computer Science Colloquium from the University of Washington that comes on UWTV. It happens to be David Baker of Rosetta@Home giving a presentation to the computer science students about how Rosetta works and how they use the results. He even gave BOINC a plug and discussed how Rosetta@Home was changing how they do things.

Re: BOINC poll @ berkeley

I use Boinc for SETI only and since I have installed Boinc I havent encountered any trouble. I actually hardly notice Boinc or WCG for that matter. Just once in a while pop in to look at the graphics and stuff. Just want to do my thing for the race I guess.

Got to say though - Boinc coupled with WCG takes a loot of computing power. smile

Well if your using UD & BOINC it will use alot of computer power, if thats the case ditch UD and use WCG through BOINC
