How to change BOINC Device name in the Device manager?

I can edit UD Device name.

hi aynfong,

i think you cannot not for a reason. Following logic with UD, it's like a car, you can change the license plate, but not the chassis number, which is not visible to us. ONLY WCG knows of that chassisnumber. In BOINC, you choose the chassis number and make it synonymous to the license plate. BOINC only knows that number, irrespective of what project you're on. Suppose you change the name in your client at WCG, but forget to change it at Einstein@home? Where would the Einstein WU go?

Sekerob is correct.

I found that disappointing when I installed a few machines in a hurry and did not bother to change the machine name that the manufacturer had used (intending to change them later). sad
