MMar, look for the WCG Clinic thread on this forum....there is a volunteer group developing a multilingual Wiki. The roughs are already up at [WCG Wiki It is aimed to have as many languages as translators and proofreaders can be found. Even Arab is in the works.

Yes, i have a reasonable good understanding of inglese but, here still a majority does not....french in fact is better for most, if they do a foreign language, even german, because of historical events.

UD is unlikely to become a multi-language agent, but BOINC already supports many, many languages.

Non-native needs translation of main contents such as "top page", "explanation of research", "introduction of developers" and "my grid". First, index written in native language could motivate non-english-native to participate the project. Second, without understanding of the research explanation, we won't contribute to the project. At last, if our details aren't written in native language, it must be hard to know how much we contribute to the project. Frankly saying, contents written in native language directly connect with motivation.

Forum needn't be translated. Rather, it can't be. Given translating automatically over the forums, thanks to its cheap technology, it must cause us to misunderstand each other

Let alone in developed countries, in developing countries witness the huge increase of the number of the Internet users and therefore that of the participants in distributed computing. According to stats, Japan and France, where English isn't national language, are among top 10 countries for the present. So translating into at least these languages is desirable. There may be more people who can participate in the project only if the contents were provided in the native languages
