Useless search function

Having recently installed the Boinc client, which I've never used before, on a Linux box and also a Mac, I've been trying to find information out a variety of things. However, the search function on these WCG forums is so biblically poor, it massively diminishes their usefulness as an information resource.

For instance, searching for "Boinc credit" (without the quotes) results in a list of threads that don't even contain the word credit. Admittedly, typing in "Boinc credit" with surrounding quotes did get me somewhere, but only to find threads with those words placed together.

Surely someone can sort this out?

PS - I did find the info I was after eventually... Boinc points are multiplied by 7 to agree with the UD agent smile

Re: Useless search function

Hi Fraz, a Forum improvement poll was started here: The Forum Software Feature Wishlist...there is no dispute over the ancientness.....its fully recognised.

There's always the Unofficial BOINC wiki, plus www.WCGwiki.org, latter under development by members. It beats me to death as why, but it seems like answering individual questions is preferred. A Question Checklist Form was proposed for things like OS, CPU, RAM, Agent etc ....one day we get with the Wiki boys and churn it out.

Notwithstanding, it's the most helpful crew there is here at WCG.
