Im new here i was running Rostta and figured id give you all a try. I detached from Rosetta and attached to World Comunnity Grid but my jobs have not showed up here yet. I uploaded a job last night and anotherone this morning and was wondering how long it takes to show up in Stats.
Thanks in advance TP |

Truckpuller,
----------------------------------------Detaching From Rosetta and Attaching to WCG suggest you're running BOINC? If so, 2 more copies of the same work needs to be processed by other PC's/Members. Only after these 3 are found agreeing do you get the credit and the time. You can see Work Unit Status on the Device Manager, Result Status page. Each Work unit is allowed 7 days for processing and return, so sometimes it take days to get the 3 together (90+ percent of all work is returned in 4 days). cheers

Is it different with the other client(s)? Do they not have the 3x results requirements?
----------------------------------------truckpuller, rosetta doesn't have the multiple copy requirement. You get your credit immediately upon completion. With WCG and others (like SETI), you really don't know how you did today, until several days later. So WCG will be exersize for your patience after Rosetta. ![]() |

Zombie67, the UD agent here gives immediate credit for the clock hours completed. In the background, there are still 2 or more extra copies send to other UD agents until 3 copies agree. @ Rosetta, you may get immediate credit in BOINC, but would not be surprised the same rule goes as for WCG's UD agent.
----------------------------------------The explanation: Some 'tweak' their BOINC agent and put in huge claims / manipulate their benchmark. Here the lowest and the highest claim are dismissed. All 3 get credit equal to the claim of the middle score for the first 3 valid on a Work Unit. On the link given to the Result Status page, you can still see how much 'claim' and CPU hours you put in, so really no big suspense.....you could tally those Pending Validation Work Units once in a while and see how much credit needs to be added (approximately) to come to a virtual total to date. BTW, Rossetta@home is more of a testing ground for what is called here Human Proteom Folding (HPF). So I can understand in a way, why its fair to give credit immediately for work done. Also WCG's HPF2 is retested at the moment in the Beta environment and once bug-fixed, put back into general production.

So the assumption is that BOINC client can be manipulated by the user, while the other client (UD?) cannot. Got it. Thanks. ![]() |
