Re: WWO (World Wide Ownage) Team breaks 100,000 points barrier

Hi everyone
Sorry I've been away for a couple of days but I've put the newest 686 kernel with hyperthreading and smp support on my p.c. Phew a conflict between bios and kernel on handover of the usb and i8042 module skewed really took a bit of work to get back up.

Still I'm now crunching with 2 threads on Boinc and back up again.

So stats update for everybody
We've now got 136,952 points and are ranked 4,334 place.

Keep up the good work everyone at the WWO and the WCG.

Catch ya laters

Re: WWO (World Wide Ownage) Team breaks 100,000 points barrier

Been awhile, so I thought I'd drop by and say 'Hi'.

My son is all excited about the impending release of PlayStation 3, which I think he said in on November 7th. I don't 'do' games, so that's meaningless to me, but I'm wondering if you and your crowd are having wet dreams. Can we say that, Nelsoc? Just in case, what I meant was nocturnal emissions, although I was using it figuratively, of course. laughing

NOW, when PS3 comes out, make sure that you and your friends use them to crunch for <gasp> another project, since WCG isn't ready to use that resource. I'm referring to Cure@PS3.

And don't forget about my Project 2plus2is4!

KEEP ON CRUNCHING.

Cheers.

Re: WWO (World Wide Ownage) Team breaks 100,000 points barrier

Hi Bill, how ya doing and thanks for dropping in.

Yes most of us who play actually still play on a p.c as we are of the age that boxes and the like are for younger people ( but still welcome in this Team ), I think the PS3 will be above all else a cracking bit of kit for my son LOL, he's really looking forward to the release, Whenever that may be. You can rest assured that he will be joining his Mum and Dad and crunching for something if Sony get it right.

The only concern I have with these boxes crunching is how long they will take to do a unit as my son will play for 10 hours in 1 go and then not touch it for a week , so it may mean ridiculously long time outs for completed work or most work units would have to be sent out again and again to get the results in time. Look at WCG's timescale, 1 week, if my son downloaded 3 units and then decided to go out playing for a week cos of the weather being nice ( hypothetically as we live in the uk lol ) then these units wouldn't make the deadline.

Anyway we aren't that excited that we are having nocturnal emissions ( not with the release date being put back about 4 times so far here in the uk anyway ) till its on sale.

Give me a day off Bill and I will check out your 2+2=4 site and come and let you know at your homebrewers team thread and return the visit here biggrin

Cheers mate
