Here and update of the Beta Test: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=11623#86380 Nice, but the first post says: We will also be sending the work to existing Linux beta testers as a control. No word about how many i686 for that comparisons :P I signed up for that (I use i686-pc-linux-gnu, I consider migrating to x64 with next release of opensuse), uploaded 6 wu, and they are all valid as well :) |

488 results have been returned by the 'i686-pc-linux-gnu' clients in the beta test.
2 were error and 3 invalid results. |

Now, for validation are needed 3 results from 3 different accounts, and if there are much more results from i686 then, I guess, most of them are useless, because this beta test is mainly for x86_64 linux & i386 freebsd :S |

I wouldn't call them useless since they are helping to validate that we can run FreeBSD and the 64 bit Linux in the same pool as 32 bit Linux. I should mention that we have more FreeBSD and 64 bit Linux clients requesting work from our system then are requesting work and signed up for the beta test. These additional clients will make up in short order for any work 'lost' due to time spent working on the beta test.

i'm running freebsd-i386port.
I'm not getting any new work today. The error I get: "Message from server: No work could be sent" "Message from server: (There was work for other platforms)" Did the beta test stop? Was the test succesfull or not? |

I still have working crunching right now. My AMD64 has crunched 8/10 workunits and those 8 have all come back Valid so far :-) !! |

The work that set to run in the beta test has been completely sent out at this point. We are waiting to get all of the results back and we need to spend some time looking the results but overall it looks like the test went well. We will post results in the beta thread sometime tomorrow.

We will post results in the beta thread sometime tomorrow. BTW, on my AMD64 machine, besides the FAAH workunits, I actually got a HDC workunit. It doesn't have BETA at the beginning of the workunit (B23078_ 0018_ YTMA89-34-1-10-c2--) and it has a replication of only 3. Did a few HDC workunits accidentally get sent out to production BOINC instead of Beta? Is there any need for me to abort this workunit? - John Watzke |
