Re: Crunching @ PCReview

Hi there TC, feckit, Ady and everyone. Back from the jungles of Borneo crying I'm told that the weather here has been very sunny, dry but cold. In Borneo there was almost no sun, lots of rain but it sure was warm. The holiday was great - trekking through the jungle, visiting a tribal longhouse, staying on a small island, admittedly with a smart hotel, canopy walking and seeing orang utans in the wild. Plus hornbills, snakes,Irrawady dolphins and innumerable wild plants including four different types of Pitcher Plants, the ones that trap and then consume insects.

Singapore is, of course, a wonderfully "new" city but there is no poverty,no litter, no yobbos and even owning chewing gum is against the law. The are no drugs or drug dealers as anyone caught in possession is liable to be hanged !! Seems a very effective method.

It's amazing how a country the size of the Isle of Wight, which has to import EVERYTHING can be so rich and well organised.

Ah well, back to the cold - I think in general I prefer our weather. I would hate to live in the constant sticky humidity of tropical climes.

Hi there Crunch-Buddies hugs

Welcome home Niv, that sounds like a wonderful holiday you've just had. It must have been so interesting to see all that wildlife - particularly the orang utans monkey (were you able to get close to any of them?) You must be feeling the chill now after all that heat, but like yourself, I don't think I could cope with permanently high temperatures, although the idea of a litter and lout-free environment is very appealing.

Hope everyone - including their crunchers - is well wink

About 20 feet away. They cheat slightly by having a large platform onto which food is placed, although the orang-utans are completely wild. Shortly after the food was put in place a mother and youngster appeared but when a huge male arrived they withdrew to the nearby treetops and waited till he had his fill. When he left they returned for the scraps. Wonderful to see. Beautiful creatures.

Re: Crunching @ PCReview

Good afternoon Feckit, Ady, Nivrip and Everyone hugs

Ooh how great was that, to be able to see the orang monkey utans at such close quarters, that must have been lovely Niv. Did you manage to get any photos of them? Such lovely animals.

Did someone mention Easter Bunny Races biggrin that sounds like fun Ady, already revving-up here having just carried out a spot of PC housekeeping (it was only a thorough disk check, so nothing very earth-shattering, but I like to think that it helps tongue )

Hope the earth-tremors didn't affect the crunching cool
