Now for two days, my Boinc agent don't upload and download the workunits anymore. I've 15 wu ready to report and no incoming wu's.
My other computers (with exactly the same sysyems) work all fine with no problems! What will I do?  |

Now for two days, my Boinc agent don't upload and download the workunits anymore. I've 15 wu ready to report and no incoming wu's. My other computers (with exactly the same sysyems) work all fine with no problems! What will I do? Check the device profile to see which projects are seleced. There has been an issue with help concour cancer units and africian climate change units are in very short supply. If this is the issue, select all projects. If not, reinstall the boinc agent on that machine.

My other computers (with exactly the same sysyems) work all fine with no problems! What will I do? Onno, just ignore the re-install advise for now. On same network (Lan)! Suggest to shut down BOINC and boot your machine. Most probably a polluted DNS/IP cache. If you post us a bit of message log (BOINCmgr, Message Tab, select 20 lines with the upload failure msgs and hit copy button left margin). This way we can join in, reading what jobs are the issue. HCC project was paused (follow Known Issues - Read Only forum announcements), so if that is the only project selected for that machine in a separate venue, visit your My Grid > My Projects and select the box at bottom that will temporarily send other work until HCC resumes. If your network problem is resolved, to upload, 99,99999% sure downloads will commence again.

All the "results" are the same, nothing happens. Also in My Grid > My Projects I've changed all the works without HCC. But my Boinc agent is not responding. So I've backuped the whole drive with the Boinc, cleaned the drive up(format), install the Boinc again and see: they all are running smoothly again. But I've lost the 15 WU's from the last week. And I've the backup for searching the problem. |

Too hasty.... was the network option erroneously suspended in the client and did you operate the 'Update' button in the Projects tab?
----------------------------------------without the actual upload/download error log we have nothing to diagnose. But, given you went ahead and reinstalled, note that 5.10.20 is not a stable / recommended release. I'm using 5.10.30 beta and it's still not okay (networking/crunching parts are fine) and here WCG is working on a new pack. For the moment, the Servers i think are still unaware of the 15 'missing in action'. Check the Result Status page if they are still waiting on a result return. If so, you could consider restoring the backup and give us some failed comms log. If those jobs were HCC, don't worry, but else they would have been good work. ttyl

I'm sorry for too hasty, but I've restored the backup. But the whole setup of the WCG agent is in Dutch language and I don't see your Update button. In Dutch its means :""Project bijwerken". That is a failure in translation or my misunderstanding.
Through the "Project bijwerken": Yes! the completed 15 WU's are gone, reported and new WU's are downloaded. And in the message log also the up- and downlods are completed! About the releases. I'm running the 5.10.20, this is not stable and the 5.10.30 is not okay. What next ? Anyway, thanks for your support and time.  With kind regards, Onno Hillebregt Zierikzee The Netherlands |

The "Project Bijwerken" in the singular is much better than the English original "Update" button (in full). At least the Dutch infers its linked to a specific project, whereas the English leave you to guess if it does all or just one (selected) project.
----------------------------------------The next WCG release should not be too far away as it also is fixing beyond many bugs from the regular Berkeley distribution an issue with the automatic uninstall of the old UD agent (if you have one and are migrating). Also there are some prominent and testy network/proxy issues to get quashed. tot orens
