shock BUG REPORT: BOINC for windows 6.4.5 wastes CPU cycles in snooze mode..

I just noticed that when the BOINC manager is directed to snooze from the task bar notification icon, that in the list of tasks, while the progress and CPU time columns quit counting up, the 'to completion' time column continues counting away in an increasing direction. This indicates to me, that BOINC is performing unnecessary time calculations here when it shouldn't be doing anything except waiting to be taken out of snooze mode..

I have noticed this problem too. it only seems to do this on core 0. It doesn't use any noticeable CPU power. it in fact uses less than 1% of the CPU power.

I would say "tell Berkeley", but they aren't supporting BOINC 6.4 either - being busy pushing BOINC 6.6 out the door.

World Community Grid recommend BOINC 6.2.28.

How do we "tell Berkeley"? I guess I assumed they were reading this agent support thread.. And how do we know that the 6.6 client doesn't do this too since it was assumably built upon the 6.4.x code?

You're a bit optimistic, there, AppleTV - the BOINC developers don't even read their own developer forums.

You can file a bug report here:http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/query
