Time to say Good Morning before I am back to bed   Good morning--you are one of the great ones along with Dave A.Two people i have not met along with some others that i feel a very great friendship and i have a love for you all--Gerald I prefer to be one of the bad ones - to quote Russian novelist Mikhail Bulgakov, to be "part of the power that forever wills evil and forever does good." |

Sixteen of our Top Twenty for year-to-date are now millionaires! While we are now averaging just under 475,000 points per day for the year, these 500K-600K point days are raising that quickly. We are getting close to a 175 million point year pace. Just a few more days and we should have our first 50 million point member! While we are excited by our high score members, we have to remember that the team would not be what it is or where it is without the folks racking up 1 or 2 K every day or two. I could not agree with you more Dave. Hope you have a great day. And the same to everyone else. |

There is a scheduled update to some of our networking infrastructure for July 10 23:00 EST time. During this time, the website, forums and BOINC uploads/downloads may not work. The planned maintenance window is for approximately 7 hours. We will post here again when the changes have been completed. I prefer Leo Tolstoy a real hero--- * Born: 9 September 1828 * Birthplace: Yasnaya Polyana, Tula Province, Russia * Died: 20 November 1910 * Best Known As: Author of War and Peace Considered one of the world's greatest novelists, Leo Nikolaevich Tolstoy is famous especially for the 19th century classics War and Peace (1865-69) and Anna Karenina (1877-78). Although he was born into nobility, Tolstoy spent much of his life as a champion of Russia's peasant class, notably in the field of education. He began his literary career in the 1850s, publishing a trilogy about his own life: Childhood (Detstvo, 1852), Boyhood ( Otrochestvo, 1854) and Youth (Yunost', 1857). Tolstoy served in the Russian army during the Crimean War, and his book Sevastopol Sketches (Sevastopol'skie Rasskazy, 1855-56) was well-received in literary circles and praised for its realistic depiction of war. After travelling throughout Europe, Tolstoy returned to the family estate and devoted himself to raising a family and writing his great psychological novels War and Peace and Anna Karenina. From the 1880s until his death, he devoted himself to more spiritual and philosophical matters, writing several essays on ethics and morals and coming to terms with his own Christian conversion (described in 1879's Confessions). His other works include the novella The Death of Ivan Ilyich (1884) and the novel Resurrection (1899-1900). In 1910, at the age of 82, Tolstoy left his home with his youngest daughter, Alexandra, and hopped a train for an unspecified destination. He fell ill along the way and ended up dying a few days later at a railroad stationmaster's house in Astapovo. |
