Down here, the ones I've seen that size are a pale green. Have a shot around here somewhere of one that ended up in the pool. Except I might be thinking of a luna moth, instead.

Well, the ones you have posted pics of don't look like luna moths to me.
The luna moth as I see it on Google->pictures don't have the hook, don't have the lilac stripes, and besides its not nearly as pumped-up, firm looking. Let's see the drowned ones when you find them, please.  - I poured a cup for TLD, too, as I saw him lurking ... I think he likes caterpillars ... he may have been a collector as a young one .... |

Here's the moth in the pool skimmer. It was bigger than my hand! It's beautiful, GP. However, it would be nicer to have it in other places than the pool.Thank you, Royden, I'll take four of them, please ... Better put on a new batch |

I was surprised it got caught, but then I find other bugs in there as well, so I suspect the water clarity might confuse matters.
