OK I don't know what to do about the "Forbidden" issue but I see lot of sig images and am wondering if I have to request another?

That's correct, to try and reduce the load SNURK has disabled access from anything other than WCG pages or the wcgsig rankings page. So the images can't be displayed on another forum, desktop background, website, etc. at present until things get sorted out.

Hi coolstream, This is a very good idea. In fact so good that I already put this in place some time ago.  There are already 101 signatures that are excluded because their owners haven't shown any activity for the last 365 days or more. These 101 signatures are no longer created and uploaded. They are checked once a week for renewed activity. If so they pop back up. Thanks for the constructive thinking though! SNURK Wow, I approached the problem with little knowledge of how you tackled it, and we have come up with the same solution! Might I suggest that you take my suggestion to be more strict and reduce the 365-day limit to something more manageable? After all, no data is ever lost and the motive is to reduce the strain on the server. I can't see that anyone who is taking a break from crunching here could have reason to complain  Crunching in memory of my Mum PEGGY, cousin ROPPA and Aunt AUDREY. |

Wow - I wasn't aware that we had to be active in the forums to continue to have a signature. My signature was fine until the overloaded server message appeared, so I'm not sure if I'm one of the 101 that Snurk mentions. Anyway, I'll do what is necessary to maintain my Snurk signature, which i think is absolutely great.

After all, or should be about those participating and not those who have quit (either temporarily or permanently). I always thought the 365 days to be extremely generous and now SNURK finds the system may not be able to support that.
Perhaps to prevent all use of the sig after going inactive, even here in the forums. We can see that there are a few of those who are still active on the forums. Ps, I took my sig out of my signature, which reduces load, although I can still view it from the signature ranking page. |

Tip: When providing links that you don't want the system to translate into images etc, there's no need to add spaces or anything else. Simply mark the text as being Code
