Still no work

Im running the android version of boinc on my Samsung tablet and have never had any problems with this until now. Since about 8th Dec boinc has been indicating "nothing to do" and is still telling me this today. It doesn't seem to be related to the recent maintenance work being done.

I have shut it down and re-started several times but this has made no difference.

is anyone else experiencing problems or does anybody know how I can kick start it back into action?

Re: Still no work

Have you looked at any other Android forum topic on the same "nothing to do"? Those threads will tell you what in the way of user action can be applied to fix your particular issue, if there is a fix. First thing to do is find the Event log view... some odd looking symbol button at top or bottom of the app screen will open that or a menu to pick the function from.

Re: Still no work

I figured it out. I have absolutely no memory of doing it, but at some point si ce 8th Dec I must have changed the storage preferences, specifically the "minimum spare storage" limit. I've reduced that figure and boinc is now downloading work.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Still no work [RESOLVED - Was the minimum storage space limit]

Yes, if for instance you have actual free space of 300MB on the device and tell BOINC at the same time to leave 250MB free, then that will have dropped the usable space by BOINC to below the minimum that FAAH requires to have. Good you caught it.

Normally, at least on a Windows client, the message/event log would print a warning about shortage of disk/storage space. That's why it's useful to be familiar in finding it and reading through the log if issues occur.

Crunch On.
