Re: FightAIDS@Home - Phase 2 validators turned off temporarily

Dango,

The reason you're having trouble now is because at any point we have about 120k results sent out to members for this project. New work is only created when old work comes back. So with the issues over the weekend, it has caused the new generations to be made in bunches now instead of evenly spread across the indexing times during the day. This will even out within a few more days. We are also looking to increase the 120k results in progress at once to possibly 200k, but we have not decided on that yet. I'm reviewing what impacts to the system it would have.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Thought that before BOINC had the capacity to distribute how much of each goes into the feeder... would be nice to those who do not hoover the whole payload at every contact, which again brings up my proposal to set a cap on the number a host can have on board, cores time 2 time 3, something that also speeds up the return and does not leave the low cachers on dry.

If the 200K is in circulation now, the 48K validations for the 28th are not exactly witness of this, as this basically suggests that each task is like 4 days underway, at the old 120K in circulation, 2.5 days.

Brings me to

1314 World Community Grid 11/29/2015 7:28:35 PM Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
1315 World Community Grid 11/29/2015 7:28:35 PM [sched_op] Server version 701
1316 World Community Grid 11/29/2015 7:28:35 PM No tasks sent
1317 World Community Grid 11/29/2015 7:28:35 PM No tasks are available for FightAIDS@Home - Phase 2
1318 World Community Grid 11/29/2015 7:28:35 PM No tasks are available for The Clean Energy Project - Phase 2
1319 World Community Grid 11/29/2015 7:28:35 PM No tasks are available for the applications you have selected.

This testbed system ** has been on since noon, low Ghz, still 3 of 4 cores idle, 1 doing CEP2 [per profile setting]. WCG wants to use them, send them FAHB. pumpkin

Edit: ** That's why it's a testbed system... not going to be running for anything but FAHB, to include running some off-line to see "if everything is [now] squared away" tongue
