sad GPU won't run
I am running Fedora 33 and have been running CPU tasks for a long time with no problems. I just saw in the notices that Open Pandemics is now able to run on GPU and I tried to activate the GPU in boinc, but I get this message when the boinc client starts.

I have opencl installed

I have run out of ideas on how to configure / install software to get this to work. The NVIDIA GPU works fine with other projects using cuda. These lines from the event log are confusing because they say opencl is loaded for the GPU, then says the gpu does not support opencl.

The line saying Nvidia GPU info taken from cc_config.xml looks odd. What is in the config file?

Remove the <coproc> block. It is used to reference a coprocessor defined in app_info.xml. You probably don't use app_info. If you do please give more information.
The log line
App version needs OpenCL but GPU doesn't support it
indicates that BOINC must have detected the GPU correctly before and you got a task.

I do use app_info.xml, or rather app_config.xml.
It is necessary to limit the number of CPUs tasked since this is my daily driver.

Here are the contents of app_config.xml. With seti it worked well.

it looks like your errors about missing GPU and not supporting OpenCL have gone away, so that's good. your log output looks good now.

you'll just need to wait to receive some tasks now. there are only a small amount of tasks available each day.

The GPU still receives no tasks but will watch it in case some come available.

Remove the max_concurrent line in the OPNG syntax. Not needed. gpu_usage determines how many tasks run. Under gpu_versions in the gpu_usage line you have gpi instead of gpu. If your card is Nvidia I would highly recommend you change cpu_usage from .4 to 1. Nvidia gpus need a full core for each task on OpenCl to run at peak efficiency. If it's AMD .4 is fine

Yeah, I saw that. Seems that there are more demand than tasks for the nvidia GPUs, but the opposite on the amd & intel GPUs.

I guess I must have gotten at least a small number of tasks for the GPU. My statistics almost doubled my average in the last 24 hours and the gpu apparently crunched about 29 tasks according to the log.
