Re: What are you listening to

TINA TURNER
We all mourn you deeply. The Rock Legend you were & the strong wowan you show your whole life.
Is there any link of Tina with jazz? Sure she was born in Tennessee but her childhood was in Mississipi (blues, cotton fields, church choirs and gospels i.e jazz roots).
And when she flee from violent Ike Turner she find a home to Herbie Hanckok's and get support from Wayne Shorter.
In 2007 Herbie Hanckok album River-The Joni Mitchell Letters is featuring Tina Turner singing as a mature jazz singer.
So we remember:
Tina Turner-Edith and the Kingpin

Icon of bossa nova from Brasil she became a global jazz star and always kept that mellow voice that defines her style above others.
