It shouldnt do us any harm at all
----------------------------------------Boinc is a better system than the old UD once installed it will give you a cache of WU so you are never without work there by ensuring consistant points It is quite easy to put into operation Follow the instructions about uninstalling existing system then just go and reinstal. Just to clear a few points up.
WCG is NOT pulling plugs! They are simply going to use the BOINC agent and do away with the UD agent (at present they use both) Damon is already on the Boinc agent! Other than the agent change, everything will remain as it is! It will not affect the team except that those using the UD agent will have to change over (easy) It will not affect the forums. It will actually increase the points as the Boinc system issues more! (But it is more for everyone!) Damon, I will get John to contact you direct with regard to the avatars! (Be patient, he works shifts!) another thought,,,perhaps Owlie may be able to help, he is a lot nearer to you! |

Thanks for the phone calls, JP; as the guy gessed, I was on holiday. I was able to make some use of an internet cafe, but there were eight of us , three generations of one family, and I did not want to spend a lot of time away from the other seven, wrestling with a strange device (Excelsior!). I felt hot under the collar and on Thursday Evelyn insisted on my going with Ruth to the nearest colleague, who diagnosed a UTI, with bile and blood in the wee, and put me on a course of cephalexin. I am now home and the nightly shivering has stopped - well I had a normal night last night and no bother today on the way home.
