Re: The Edwardians have arrived!

Yes I'm glad that even people with English as their native language confess having difficulties understanding it, can you imagine what it's like for people abroad. wink biggrin devilish

But Baron, your English is excellent. We can hardly tell you have a Dutch accent.

Hoezo, wat bedoel je? devilish

Thank you of reminding me on that gunner. biggrin
Well I guess my English is not that bad but to fully understand certain wordjokes is too much for me but I keep learning. laughing

Re: The Edwardians have arrived!

By the way, I noticed that there is a new version of Boinc recommended here.
Upgraded to the new version, 5.10.30, no apparent changes.

Yes I did - foolish not to at this stage, eh? My 'old' TV is just that, over 22 years old (Toshiba) and has been brilliant - I don't owe it a penny! It has even given me long warning of it's demise (tube going) with a series of lines across the top of the screen which used to go away after a couple of minutes, but now stay there. So a nod is as good as a wink as they say. I did the shops, chose what I liked and what was suitable and then went online and got it £140 less than in the shop! wink biggrin

So at this moment in time I feel quite chuffed - just hope it lasts. BTW, free delivery too! devilish

Correct had a couple of small Tvs around the house (big lumps small screens)
They started to fade picture quality went down and down.
Asda had an offer on small Flat screen tvs with conections that
allows Computor to hook up, so have two computors attached to tvs not for any other use than crunching.
@ Merle Hope that your new box is Digital ready ie built in no need for set top box and more wires but as you are attached to cable maybe not so important .
As well as the fact that the Digital switch over will not come to your district for a few years .Whitehaven just up the coast from here has just switched off its anologue signal and we are next in line.
Free delivery is good ,Also Removal of packaging and TV ,
guess that its a heavy lump so dont you go lifting it devilish ??

You might however wish to keep the Magnifier and if antiques road show comes your way could find you have a treasure devilish

Dens, as you know I am cable here (with appropriate set-top box) so don't have an option, but that means we already have digital! (No aerials on houses round here). We are the last region in the country for the switch-over.

Morning all smile

Re: The Edwardians have arrived!

Evening all

Didn't get round to posting yesterday, just sort of collapsed on the sofa when we got back.
It went well, even the rain chose the right times to ease up and the meal - at Racine's - as good as ever so all, except my bank balance were happy.

Been back up to town this morning to start the pressie hunting and made a good start.

The only thing that balances the cost of London is that I don't need a car and have free travel.
