Re: The Formula One Thread

I want to propose an F1 rule change. Vettel has to race on square tires provided by the lowest bidder. Another ugly race.

Re: The Formula One Thread

It really is worse than the Schumacher years - preceded by the Mansell years..

What happened to the TV coverage at the end?

Vettel wins and the wide angle shots of fireworks when all the fireworks were still on track. I didn't see anyone else come home.

Maybe they were lit early by the incredibly unlucky Mark Webber.

1 Vettel
2 Alonso
3 Raikkonen

I think !

Re: The Formula One Thread

This penalty is very hard for Webber . On the next race he may learn
from Kimi who started 13 and come to finish 3 with maestria.
A true challenger for Majo Alonso next year!
Hopefully Alonso wud merit one victory before the end of the season to reduce the spread with Seb.
And as a reward to finish so regularly 2nd in spite of starting on 5th or 6th
position

Re: The Formula One Thread

Very heavy calendar if all races are done , so much for an attractive competition ( 2013 races were quite boring !)
sad Poor France not able to receive one round -for a lot of political
reasons.

I enjoyed a couple of them but I agree most were boring.

reasons.

Really? Why?

Re: The Formula One Thread

Well first all Bernie Ecclestone said he doesn't want a GP of France and asking too much royalties.
So the business men in France have prepared 2 projects but asking subsides from government that were refused by the minister( woman) of sports.
Austerity, lobbying of the greens (the french government need their alliance) and president Hollande's hate of F1 is well known.

A "public sport event " must be TV diffused freely and Canal Plus- the paying channel trying to capture all sports in France- is lobbying too as he has just got the exclusivity to transmit F1 in place of TF1 -a private but not paying channel.

French political "cuisine"; and mentality in french left is very much against cars and everything that promote their usage.

Actually even if an agreement comes within end of year and the New Jersey race effectively annulled
it will be too late for the teams to prepare

F1 in France again? a labyrinth; a kind of Loch Ness Monster, a dream.
Cheers
