Re: The Formula One Thread

Wow! Just 0.7 seconds and Mark would have had Nico. Congratulations to Nico and Merc. I watched the live timing but I have to wait another 2 hours to watch the race. Exciting. These races need to be longer. Two weeks of hype and the race is only 1:40 hours long. Bring back refueling, get rid of COURS and let the driver decide when to use DRS. Too many rules.

Re: The Formula One Thread

4 tyre failures and 1 yesterday

Pirelli have had safer tyres for 2 races now and yet still the original clearly unsafe ones are being used ... despite that unmentionable test.

The race should have been Red Flagged. They got lucky today. They shouldn't be driving on luck.

A German Bloke won again biggrin This time a different one shock
In the Mercedes built in https://maps.google.com/maps?q=Brackley,+Northants,+NN13+7BD wink

Congrats to Nico. applause

Seb with just a box of neutrals

Who else saw the Engineer with the "I got dressed at Night" sheet of A4 standing behind Eddie Jordan? Classic.

Only one week to the Nürburgring let's hope Pirelli can pull a rabbit out of a hat and deploy some preferably non-exploding tyres by Friday's practise.

I have Hankooks on mine - VENTUS S1 evo's - grippy grippy grippy and they last.

Nürburgring - back to edited highlights on the Beeb sad

Till next week

Dave

Re: The Formula One Thread

Everyone should sell their Pirelli stock before the markets open. whistling That was a lot of catastrophic tire failures for one race. An amazing run at the end by Webber (+28 points). Ferrari must have been holding everything for the race. Good showing with a 3rd and 6th. I still say keep your eyes on Force India. Zero points for Vettel has a big impact on points.
Great day for the UK!

Re: The Formula One Thread

Trying to blame the track / curbs for the tyre problems doesn't wash.
Funny how Pirelli official vehicles don't use their own make of tyre.
Luckily none of my vehicles have Pirelli and they probably never will.

Re: The Formula One Thread

F1 pilots know very well their life is in danger in every race but when we consider the progress done on security year after year one cannot admit that a manufacturer i.e Pirelli take their life at risk
I hope Bernie Ecclestone and the teams will put pressure(is it the right term?) on Pirelli to solve that problem.
if not ,good bye to the "chicken with golden eggs" Mr Greedy Bernie

Happy to see Majo Alonso narrowing the gap! some luck yes but...
one never needs to win all the races to finish champion

If ever Ferrari cud have cars a bit more speedy....a.better position
after Q3 cud help.

Re: The Formula One Thread

Menace of strike from the pilots if the same events we saw at Silverstone happen again on sunday at Nurburring:

http://www.liberation.fr/sports/2013/07/04/f1...d-prix-d-allemagne_916119

sorry quoting a french newspaper ; someone may check that info in english
somewhere
is Pirelli tackling the problem seriously ?
