Slashdot Users are still slacking though. I've got a few more compurters coming online this week, but one person alone will not make much difference. We really do need a linux and/or bsd version. I know I have serveral servers that could be running WCG. |

I see all these ppl crying over WU's that take ages to complete... Please, my sweets, don't cry no more....
---------------------------------------- With any WU completed you will be rewarded a number of points that is based on the product of that machine's performance, AND the time it spent on the WU. So whether you need a week to complete one WU or to handle 100, it doesn't matter, that weeks worth of processing still pays the same amount of points! At least, that's what I read! (But don't ask me where I saw it. Some admins/techs should be able to confirm this.) EDIT: Currently my machine is processing a WU for which it worked 58 mins, 40 secs to complete only 1.8%... that would mean 60 hours of work for the whole unit. I'm not worried, because that task will pay somewhere around 1500 points when finished. That's 25 point per hour on average, like all other tasks. And the various Team IBM's surely also will benefit, as others have remarked previously. Which brings me to kicking the table and putting the question on top again: Is there any schedule as to when we may see the first versions of the linux client? Cheers! Crunch on!
