Welcome back Dataman--I hope you are not in the fire prone area

Yes, I live in a heavily wooded area but fire season should be over. But normally we have over 5" of rain by now. I actually had to water some plants that should be dormant by now. Even the fish in the pond have not gone into winter hybernation yet. It just has not been cold enough yet.

Windy today! I see the rain is just up the coast and they have raised tomorrow's prediction for rain to 35%.

----

Welcome Graham. Nice to see you here.

Today's gripe biggrin laughing biggrin laughing biggrin I think they only run the validator on the 5th Tuesday in month's that begin with the letter "R". laughing biggrin laughing biggrin I've 59 WU's in PV ... I think that is a "personal best" laughing biggrin

Well, on with the day .... Cheers!

Graham, good to hear from you as well. Hopefully, the next time we do will be sooner! biggrin Hope you are doing okay.

Dataman, Dave, I'll start a new chapter tonight. The header will be pretty useless since none of the links will work and I don't have replacements ready for them yet. I'll try leaving this thread unlocked so I can fix its header along with the new one in time. I had hoped to have my copy of Corel by now. I know it's shipped but they didn't give any kind of tracking info. sad I'm trying to get the graphics we saved from the old site organized and loaded on the new one. There's never enough time for everything it seems. Work gets crazy as the year end nears and, with my wife working the night shift, my 4-yr. old keeps me busy in the evenings. This too shall pass - I hope. laughing I do have the last half of the month off to use up remaining use it or lose it vacation time so I keep hoping I can make some good progress then.

No worries mate!!! The top post is bad now so it doesn’t matter if the new one is. If we had some decent forum software here, long threads would not be a problem. You do a great job Mon Capitan!! applause applause I don’t know how you do what you do while working not to mention having a 4 yo running around. Sorry I can’t help out unless you want that page written in COBOL. laughing

I’m off to the veterinarian this morning ... time for my shots. alien 2 Then I don’t have to worry if I bite one of the guards to the PV jail. laughing biggrin

...............................NEW TOY ALERT!!!................................

I have just installed my new toy -- I bought a mini HDTV Tuner with DVR which connects via USB to my PC. Here is a picture:

So far, I've only watched it a couple minutes, but the picture on my 19 inch LCD monitor is awesome!!!

I’ll make you a deal, Keith. Next time I will watch your 4 yo and you take my Great Dane to the vet!! We walked in this morning to find a very nice young woman with a Doberman bitch in heat. He went insane!!! Frothing at the mouth, trying to mark territory and ignoring my commands. He must have thought it was his “lucky day”. wink I guess there are some things you don’t forget even if you are neutered. biggrin I’m 6’3” but I only outweigh him by 60 pounds ... had my hands full. We had to hobble him to keep him on the exam table and never did get him on the scales to weigh him. The vet says while laughing, “I don’t think we’re going to get a resting heart rate on him today.” You think??? We left by the backdoor. He is still searching the house with his nose to the carpet trying to pick up the scent again. It was rather embarrassing for me as he is very well trained ... sorta like having a 2 yo throwing a temper tantrum in the middle of church service. It is times like these I wish he was a Chihuahua!!! laughing

I need my shots now ... make mine a single malt Glenlivet!!! laughing biggrin

--------

Nice new toy Dave. I think you are ahead of Jonathan and I in the toy department again.

--------

Jonathan, you’ve been quiet in here. You studying?

Ady -- I even posted my evaluation to Tiger Direct, somthing I never do. Installation was super fast. I am using the antenna you see with it and have it pointed through a concrete wall. I get about 20 stations, about a third of those are HDTV. Pictures are clear as a bell and the HDTV channels -- they are so vivid, I can't even describe it. The only bad thing so far is it did crash Vista one time this afternoon as I flipped through channels. So far I am not worried about that. I might set it up to use M'soft Media Center if it happens again. The software also has a DVR function and it records shows as mpg's. Screen snapshots are bin files. All in all, I am really happy with the purchase.
