Thank you Jord (and Sekerob later) for providing the link to this information I was looking for since I know of a 5.10.22 version.

Practical note to anybody with the same following problem: I do not see the code contained in cc_config.xml in Jord's changelog unless I increase the font size (under Firefox 2.0.0.7). With the default font size I can only see the vertical line on the left.

Regarding what you describe about this cc_config.xml file I do not know if it is not working or if it has been added after I installed 5.10.22 over 5.10.20 on October 6. I have not lost mine at all, which is fine for me because I would have found a little shocking that the backup file which is recommended cannot be created by the installation procedure itself!

The cc_config.xml seems still not to be created at clean installation. If it does not exist, BOINC will just use certain defaults to ensure a minimum set of messages is being logged. Here's my spartan version including those defaults.

The <save_stats_days> increases the Statistics graphs in BOINC from default 30 to 90 days. If set it will take 2-3 months to build the local history.
