Re: The BOINC Migration Meter

Who thinks that the new HCC project has anything to do with the 6.6% shift from UD to BOINC? Just a preview of Sunday, when the big flush is nowadays on Monday.

Re: The BOINC Migration Meter

Hmmm...
Nice graph, Sekerob!
Well I did it, sniveling all the way. Now, if I can just get more memory, I'll be able to use it to it's potential. I've got a nice system, but honestly, I still miss the Sun Sparc's we had access to in school. And they ran Solaris X Windows, in Unix... And did stuff in the early 90's that we take for granted now... cool

Re: The BOINC Migration Meter

Think there is a hobble to take this week and next whilst more crunchers have been 'helping to conquer cancer' and decided that BOINC has more to offer in project choice.... UD agent points dropped yesterday to 22,225,592 a good 2 million down from last week.

Same time BOINC points (credits in new speak) are down too which has everything to do with the none-instant reward.... quorum validation creates an initial delay, but once the flow of work is continuous as well as the approvals, will they come back.

Given that BOINC reports real CPU time and not the UD agents run time, which was wallclocking along even when little cycles are employed, CPU time is also going to be a little below what we normally see. That will recover as with the quorum validation, not only points, but also CPU time is added into the stats.

have a nice day, of crunching of course and don't forget to check the BOINC pulse once in a while if you're new to this agent. There is not yellow exclamation mark yet in the system tray, when the agent is stalling.

Re: The BOINC Migration Meter

Okay, I have carefully examined my Team and cross-referenced each member with BOINC. Here's the facts:

340 members
133 BOINC crunchers
52 UD crunchers
155 w/no WU returned in 60-70 days minimum <--- I ignored these

So how can I let the 52 members who still crunch with UD agent to be advised to update to BOINC? I have them all written down.

I thank you in advance for any solution :)

Re: The BOINC Migration Meter

Buon Giorno

Cant think of an absolute way to get their awareness but to post it in your Team thread and in the external forum you employ. The other way, if any of these team members signed up for the mail option in their profile is to send one Dianagram from the Captains Office.

The UD points sunk for WCG overall to below 22 million.... it's slow progress this moment.

ciao

Re: The BOINC Migration Meter

Thanks Sekerob. I will indeed send a Dianagram (your sooo funny!) I lost the email addresses of my team when my other computer fried, so this is a good first step.

Thanks! biggrin
